Bennett Hay has been awarded We invest in People, Gold accreditation

Bennett Hay has been awarded We invest in People, Gold accreditation in recognition of its people practices. Following a rigorous assessment, Bennett Hay joins just 23% of accredited organisations who have achieved Gold status.

This standard is only given to organisations who can demonstrate excellence in developing and supporting their people. Gold accreditation means Bennett Hay has the required policies in place, but more than that, it means everyone within the company takes ownership for making them come to life.

Bennett Hay’s colleague engagement strategy is designed to not only attract and retain the best talent in the industry, but to recognise, reward and develop existing employees. Bennett Hay is a company of colleagues who share values, which are ‘lived’ around the business every day at every level. Colleagues feel empowered and there is no blame culture which allows everyone to focus on doing the right thing for the guest and providing the best service and experience. Family and community are an integral part of the company culture at Bennett Hay, as well as collaboration and working together to ensure positive working practices and outstanding service.

Progression and opportunity is championed at Bennett Hay with colleagues given the opportunity to change their roles and progress to senior positions with the necessary support. High performance is also recognised on a regular basis by the owners and senior leaders.

Bennett Hay secured a benchmark score of 743 vs the industry average of 719, which is a particularly impressive feat given the challenging 3 years the hospitality industry has endured. The company has also featured 5 times in the Top 3 Best Places to Work in Hospitality.

Claire Huish, HR & Wellbeing Director at Bennett Hay, commented: “The entire Bennett Hay experience starts with the people at the heart of our business, so this accreditation is particularly rewarding. We invest considerable time and effort into developing our people and ensuring their work environment is one that encourages and harbours success, both individually and as a company.”

Investors in People assessor commented: “The last two years has been very difficult for everyone, and the times have been tough. Some organisations fell by the wayside and others flourished. Bennett Hay’s investment in people, I am sure, helped the company to weather the storm and come out stronger.”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Bennett Hay. Gold accreditation on We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Bennett Hay in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”
